The Historical Society of Michigan is seeking to fill an open position as an Office Assistant. The position is a permanent part-time position at 30 hrs/wk. HSM is looking for a detail oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Job responsibilities include processing memberships, financial deposits, mailings and solicitations; data entry tasks; support work for publications, conferences and educational programs; managing incoming phone calls and other communications; and other duties as assigned.
Some in-state travel is required as well as some weekend work on special events. The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills. A high school diploma is required. Previous office experience is highly preferred. Potential candidates should be proficient using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, Outlook and use of the Internet. Experience using editing in HTML is a plus.
The HSM office hours are 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Hourly pay for this part-time position is $8.00 per hour.
